introduction 
In sikhi the term for common headgear used is dastaar or pagg or pagri.In sikhi turban holds both spiritual and physical values because it has both aspects.
๐ŸŒฑSpiritual Turban
Spiritual turban is depicted in guru granth sahib as a sign of honour.

Ang 74 Guru granth sahib conveys Guru arjan Dev
เจนเจ‰ เจ—ੋเจธਾเจˆ เจฆਾ เจชเจนਿเจฒเจตਾเจจเฉœਾ ॥
I am a wrestler; I belong to the Lord of the World.
เจฎੈ เจ—ੁเจฐ เจฎਿเจฒਿ เจ‰เจš เจฆੁเจฎਾเจฒเฉœਾ ॥
I met with the Guru, and I have tied a tall, plumed turban.

๐ŸŒฑPhysical Turban


The physical turban was officialy added to the sikh code of conduct,when Guru gobind Singh created khalsa.In fact that turban was not normal one or borrowed one,it was unique turban as revealed in code of conduct.It is popularly known as Dumalla.

๐Ÿ’ŽThis turban was given to sikh woman too and there comes strong katha about it in suraj parkash granth ayan 1 ansu 22 pankti.

เจŠเจšਾ เจฌੁੰเจ—ਾ เจœੋ เจธเจœੈ เจจਾเจฎ เจจਿเจนੰเจ— เจธੁเจœਾเจจ।
Ucha bunga(Tall turban) who wears know him as Nihang.

Narrates Bhai Dya Singh that Guru gobind singh said
เจ•ਿเจฐเจชਾเจจ เจธੀเจธ เจชੈ เจฐਾเจ– เจ•ੈ,เจฌੁੰเจ—ਾ เจŠเจšਾ เจงਾเจฐ
Keep kirpan on your head then tie ucha bunga(tall turban)

## In Bhai daya singh Singh Rehatnama
Narrates Bhai Dya Singh that Guru  gobind singh said
เจ”เจฐ เจชਾเจ— เจฌเฉœੀ เจฌਾਂเจงੇ।
And tie big turban.
